WE ARE KNUCKLE DRAGGER studio update

A quick WE ARE KNUCKLE DRAGGER / Ross Robinson studio update (with pics) from LA re: the album #2 recording.

The recording of WE ARE KNUCKLE DRAGGER album #2, this time with LA producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Slipknot, Deftones, Glassjaw, Korn) in his Venice Beach studio is progressing at a fierce rate. A daily routine of breakfast / coffee’s / discussions along Ocean Front Walk till 12 noon is followed by the solid graft of tracking instruments live through till midnight.

The 10 track album has a heavier and deeper sound, as expected with this respected metal producer. Still with WAKD's raw sounding edge, the tracks are recorded live to analog tape and then sparsely infused with experimental vintage effects and moog synths, creating ungodly tones!

Ross talks through each song in depth with the band, stirring up emotions of the lyrical content – gaining the songs deeper meanings moments before the analog reel tape is set to record. The band then immediately begin to bash down the song live with Ross remaining in the small live room, staring emphatically at WAKD amidst physically pushing them, pulling hair and punching instruments. In conversation, Ross is quoted to say “this is the most fun I’ve had with a band in ages!”
